Leadership Management and Tom Northup work with owners, CEOs and senior to mid-level execs who want to be become better managers and leaders. They want to drive their organization to the next level.
The good news is we can change the way we do things. The bad news is it takes time and effort. True development is a process. In our process participants build success awareness and habits over time. Participants work regularly at a more effective, successful level.
In most programs it is up to the participant to make changes and for all the usual reasons most don’t. So the effort becomes a feel good exercise. The better attitude is to view employee development as an investment. Require a positive return.
We accomplish long term development thru individual coaching, development programs and facilitating a CEO round table.
Coaching
In Our Approach and Uniqueness we discuss the details of how we work and your benefits. Successful coaching is based on a trust relationship. Our coaching model is completely determined by participants. Recognizing their constraints we work at their pace. I follow the “carefrontational” approach. As your coach I will provide the encouragement, support and constructive criticism that will help you reach the plan you commit to. I will continually monitor progress and hold you accountable for accomplishing your plan.
I charge by the hour, by retainer or by project. There is no minimum or commitment for a specific time. If you would like to discuss in person please use the Contact Us page.
CEO Round Table
I facilitate CEO round tables in Orange County, southern California. The benefits of developing relationships with like-minded CEOs, business owners and senior executives are well established.
- Increased accountability
- A strong support network
- Access to professionals with complementary strengths
- Improved delegation skills
- Make better decisions
- Increased profitability
- Improved level of business expertise
It’s lonely at the top. However, that does not mean you have to go it alone. Owning a business automatically enrolls you in the School of Hard Knocks. Drop out of the school and learn valuable lessons from fellow CEOs. You may feel your problems are unique to your business, but many others have similar issues. Our CEO groups provide a forum for owners to discuss key business issues.
And you get Tom as your personal coach too!

Strategic Planning – A strategic plan helps you develop your business direction over the next few years. A strategy is a document of how you will compete in your market place.
Strategic planning is the most important activity you and your management team can undertake. Effective planning focuses the team. The purpose of planning is to produce results on a continuous basis.
Typically many small to medium sized companies don’t understand the value of planning and don’t plan. I often hear, “We are too busy with day-to-day issues and don’t have the time for planning.”
Organizations managed by a specific plan significantly out-perform less well managed organizations of equal capabilities. In one study companies with strategic plans were 40% larger than those without a plan, had slightly fewer workers and thus, 45% higher revenue per employee.
There is a simple message: Planning and strategy is fundamental to developing your focus. Strategy and planning are fundamental to developing “unfair” competitive advantage.
